September 4: Sydney

September 4, 2014

Our flight to Sydney had a 4 1/2 hour layover in Los Angeles, CA. (Thank You BIG TIME to Nancy and Gail who picked us up, fed us, and walked us so we didn't have to sit in the airport terminal all that time).  We then had a 14 1/2 hour flight from LAX to Sydney. Not a bad flight, but long.  We flew premium economy, which turned out to be a great way to go - lots of leg room, seats that reclined much more than economy, and GREAT service on Virgin Australia.

After we landed in Syndey, we checked into our hotel, we walked our butts (and feet) off. We toured the Sydney Botanical Gardens and surrounds, the Sydney Opera House, and did our best to stay up until after 8:30 p.m. Sydney time (4:30 a.m. Salt Lake City time) to get our bodies adjusted to the 16 hour time change. We ended up walking for nearly 12 hours (seemed like 12 days)!  It's 8:38 p.m. and I'm DONE for the day!  Just a few photos to show you around Sydney.

Smile! We made it to Australia!!!

Nothing says Syney like the Syndey Opera House
